Couponing to Christmas is Over...Or Is It?????
I spent all this year doing coupon deals, coupon stacking, rebate programs, online deals and more to get FREE or super cheap gifts for all the people in our lives for Christmas. Now I've emptied my gift closet. Yes, I do have a closet just for gifts and donations. I call it my gift closet and my husband calls it my hoarding closet. Anyways, tomorrow is January 1st so it's time to start all over again and I can't wait. I get to gift shop all year and reap the savings as well.
So my challenge to you is to try and look for deals that can be gifts for the people in your life for birthdays, anniversary and holidays. Its so nice as a couponer to know that when you have a birthday party coming up all you have to do is go to your own gift closet and pick one out. My motto is to never pay more than the lowest price I can pay for an item so buying last minute for a gift would go against my motto.
Join me in holiday shopping all year and I'll be sure to post any deals I find on the blog for you guys. Good Luck!

My Coupon Resolutions
For the past 2 years I have made couponing New Years resolutions that I actually achieved, unlike my weight loss resolutions that get abandoned about 4 weeks in. So Ive been thinking about what I should set goals for other than the usual "increase my savings" one.
Goal #1: To build more shelving in my basement to store my stockpile and to have it be better organized
Goal #2: Focus more on grocery food savings and building my food pantry stockpile
Goal #3: Try ordering coupons in large quantities to buy enough items to donate to charities and food pantry's
Goal #4: To do an outreach to a local non-profit that serves low income families where I can teach coupon classes to help them stretch their food budgets
Goal #5: To get to go shop at Marsh during one of their triple coupon events
Goal #6: to shop at Publix in Nashville the next time I'm there
It might be fun to set some coupon resolution's for yourself and see how you might challenge yourself for the next year!

I'm Back
Sorry for my hiatus from the blog with all the Christmas events I had going on. But now I'm back and ready to post more deals and all the local best deals as well.
I have pretty much given away all my extra stockpile in gift baskets to teachers, family and friends so I'm excited to re-stockpile. I also coupon and clearanced shopped all year which let me get a gift for everyone in my family except for 2 people. I only had 2 gifts to get in December so couponing really helped me reduce my stress from finding that perfect gift and also saved me a ton of money. My favorite gift I gave was to my sister-in-law which was an assortment of 15 different clothing items from Target at a total of $4.97. She loved all the new clothes and I loved the savings. Now I'm on a mission to top that for next year. I hope all of you had a great Christmas. It's snowing right now as I write this so enjoy the view, sip some hot chocolate and CLIP THOSE COUPONS!!!

Couponing to Preschool
My youngest will be starting preschool next month. I had a meeting with his teacher and she shared that the parents take turns bringing a snack for school. Mostly it's just like a bag of pretzels or a box of gummie snacks. I kind of laughed inside and said to myself "How about 20 boxes of granola bars or 32 boxes of fruit gummy snacks." That's what I have on hand right now from couponing. I just said, "sure, no problem."

Couponing for Profit?
There was some discussion a couple weeks ago on a coupon forum I follow and a couponer who get items for FREE and then resells them. There were a lot of people who were upset about it because they felt that any couponer should donate their free items if they are not going to use them themselves. It was interesting to me how different people felt about it. Some couponers would sell their free items in their yard sales or at a local consignment store. Another lady said she had a table space at a flea market. It was a very heated discussion and I was so surprised how passionate couponers were about donating. If you read my blog often then you know that I love to donate items to local charities. I often can not afford to make cash donations to charities but couponing allows me to donate food, medicines and baby supplies which are highly needed as well. But in my opinion, it's my choice to do what I want with the items I have. You DO purchase these items from the store which makes them yours. You also pay taxes on them. I certainly don't want to tell anyone what they can or can't do with their stockpile. Times are hard and I can understand why a couponer would sell their free items and I personally don't feel there is anything wrong with it. I have couponed my way to free maternity clothes at Target before and then sold them at a consignment sale.
So I guess my point is that I feel that couponers have the right to do what they wish with their stockpile. It's great if you can donate or maybe donate a small percentage of it, but it should be each persons own choice. How do you guys feel about it?

Kmart Double Coupon Event Tomorrow
On 12/16 the Henderson Kmart will be participating in a double coupon event up to $2. So a $2 coupon will be $4. This sale only take place on Friday. If you read my blog regularly you should know I'm not a big fan of Kmart and here's the reason why, you can only redeem 5 coupons TOTAL. Not 5 like coupons but 5 coupons total. The only way around this is to have multiple Shop Your Way Rewards cards, which you can get at the customer service desk, and then split up your transactions. You also have to spend $25 in grocery and/or drugs before they will double your coupons. You will have to hope your cashier will let the $25 purchase be before coupons to even make this worth anything. So in my opinion it's not worth the 40 minutes drive to go out there to get 5 things FREE but for any of you that may be interested please go HERE to get more details. I did call the Henderson Kmart to make sure they were participating and that the rule was 5 coupons. Some blogs are reporting it is only 5 like coupons but that is not the case at our local store. Good luck!

Awesome New Coupon Buying Site
I heard about this great website that offers low prices for purchasing coupons. It's http://www.lorihas3kids.com/ and she sells coupons in groups of 10 or 20 for as low as $1. That's a pretty good price compared to eBay and some of the other sites. Check it out and sign up to be notified anytime new coupons are added. I haven't used this site before so I can't say much about the customer service but I do plan to use soon. The last few times I have used www.thecouponclippers.com I have been so disappointed in how long their processing and shipping is. Most of the time it takes 7 to 8 days to get the coupons and that's too long when your trying to get a store deal.
$3 off KY Jelly = FREE at Walmart
Go HERE to print a $3 off KY Jelly (excluding trial size). Walmart sells the small tube for $2.62 which would give you $.38 in overage. If you need it, I found this coupon under zip code 62946.
$2 Tide Coupon
Go HERE to request a $2 off coupon from Tide's Facebook page. It will take a few weeks to come in the mail to you but it's a high value coupon!
