Coupon Classes

I'm thinking of teaching coupon classes to newcomers and those wanting to get started.  What do you guys think?  Have you ever been to one?  I've been working on developing a class outline and I'm getting more excited about it.  I taught scrapbooking classes for years so I love sharing what I know but I'm not sure if many people would come????

Kroger Mega Sale

OH....I'm excited.  I've been wanting to shop at Kroger and I think the time has come.  It's being reported that the Mega Event sale is next week and is the best time to stockpile.  Once I get the ad I will do coupon match-ups and post them here...so check back!

Toy Story Operation

If you are still looking to the Toy Story Operation game I do believe that either all the Walmarts are sold out or the price has changed to $9.97.  East side Walmart had them but at $9.97 and west side was sold out.  So was Newburgh.  Just FYI.  East side Walmart is also sold out of Nivea as is North Park Target. 

Calling All Couponers...

A fellow blogger, Kristin from Couponing to Disney lives in one of the towns hit by the tornadoes yesterday.  Her church is needing donations of a variety of items to donate directly to hose affected and who have lost everything.  GO HERE to her site to get all the details.  I will be packing a flat rate box of items from my stockpile to mail in the morning.  Please consider giving what you can.  This is a great way to share your stockpile.

I got 4 packages of dental floss for free today from the Dollar General Store.  The coupon is here http://www.coupons.com/ for $1 off any Reach floss.  DG has them priced at $1 so it makes it FREE.

Free Nivea body Wash

Last weeks (4/17) paper had a $3 Nivea coupon in it.  Our Evansville Walmarts have the 16 oz. bottle for $3 and Target had them for $3.04.  Dollar General Store has the 8 oz. bottle for $2.75.  So I hope you clipped those coupons!!!

Vanderburgh County Online Garage Sale

I just discovered this on Facebook.  GO HERE to like their page which is Vanderburgh County Online Garage Sale.  You can post that you want to sell something and then comment when you see a post of something your interested in.  Pretty much craigslist on facebook.  Check it out.

My Target Shopping trip

I went to the North side Target.  I can kick myself because I forgot to ask the cashier why they were clearing out the back section of the store.  If anyone knows, please leave a comment.  The men's clothing section is crammed in with the women's and it's really difficult to move a shopping cart around.  Anyways, I bought Silk Milk coupons online and got 10 containers for $1 off.  There were 3 bottles of Nivea body wash left on the shelf so (I'm sorry) but I took the last 3 and with the $3 Nivea I paid $.04 each.  There was no good women's plus size clearance so I couldn't use the $3 target coupon on that. I saved $19 on this trip with my coupons so I was quite happy with that.

$3 Nivea Body Wash

Last Sundays paper had a $3 Nivea body wash coupon in it. I was able to get 2 bottles for free from Walmart today.  Walmart has them priced at $3 even so no overage.  Dollar General stores have them for $2.75 for the smaller bottle.  Hope you got a lot of papers so you can stockpile.  I love it when companies put out high value coupons like this and Nivea has done this before.  And I really love their products.

Operation Games at Walmart

I was able to print two more Operation Toy Story game coupons at my mother-in-laws and went out today to buy them at my local Walmart and there were none.  I knew the word would get out.  I tried the West Side and the East Side Walmart so I might try Boonville later on.  Just wanted to pass that on so you don't waste a trip just for that.  I did get 4 games already so I've got enough to make the kiddos in my life happy. 

Has anyone seen the Parker area?

I live in Wadesville and I just got out today to go to Evansville and drove through Parker Settlement and it looked like a tornado went through there.  Houses and garages were missing their roof and part of a roof is on the opposite side of the road.  Lots of trees down and power line poles.  Very scary.

Did you have storm damage last night?

I hope everyone made it through the stormy night and has power.  We were lucky and only last power for a few minutes but I have to share this story. We had tornado warnings at our house tonight and a bad storm with 80mph winds did come through but no tornado that we know of but we lost our power. With all my couponing I do have emergency kits in our garage and the basement with first aid materials and food/water but I didn’t have flashlights. My husband spent all his time looking for a flashlight and not being in the basement with us. After everything was over he was still mad about the fact that we had no working flashlights. And I said (and I should have stayed quiet) well I have all those flashlights I got free with the Menards rebate program in the closet but those are for Christmas gifts. My husband about lost it. So the lesson learned is to stockpile for my own family and home first and for gifts and donations second.

My shopping trip

First I went to Target.  I was the only dork there at 8am waiting for them to open so I could get my free bag.  I missed out last year so I really wanted to get one this year.  No one else was waiting.  But I did get my free bag, 4 travel size of visine for free and 1 package of Up & Up ibuprofen for $.49. 

I also went to Walgreens and got a comfort pack Gillette razor set, 2 Betty Crocker Cake mixes, 2 frosting's and 2 Scott tape rolls and 2 Betty Crocker cookie mixes for $9 with a $4 RR back.

My Buy Low trip

I was so happy to get to shop when my coupons would double.  Well below is a picture of what all I bought.  The coupon match-ups were in my previous post.

My total was a little over $60 and after coupons it was $21.31.  I had a total savings around 65%.

*** this is all I could find for coupons under $.50 that would make the products at a good price point. My advice is go through the coupons you have already printed, like I have 4 coupons I printed a month back for $.50 off Starkist Tuna pouch (no size restriction) and they sell for around a $1 at Walmart. I'm going to do great between the peanut butter and the juice. I have kids and use that stuff up quick!

Funny Walmart story

I was shopping at Walmart today and I had a bunch of items with coupon matchups for this trip. I found a male cashier and he rang up all my items. We had a nice conversation about a full size Operation game at the local Chucky Cheese. He was so friendly (unusual for Walmart by my experience) and then I showed him all my coupons. Then he went on to talk about this Extreme Couponing show he saw on TLC. He said "let me subtotal this like they do on that show so you can see the price go down." I played stupid and said "oh that would be fun." And he talked on and on about this crazy lady who bought $1,000 of groceries and paid $5 for it. And the man that had a grocery store in his garage. He wasn't paying any attention to my coupons, just scanning them all - although I was watching to make sure each one got scanned. Then he did the last one (I had about 25 coupons) and he looked at the sub-total and said "Oh my gosh it's $12." My sub-total was $68. He looked at me puzzled and said "How did you do that...oh wait are you one of those couponer people?" I almost died laughing. That made my day. So if you use a few coupons your a person who uses a few coupons but if you have a 70-99% savings on your total then you are "one of those people." I am very proud to be one of those frugal people and to have a cashier who appreciated it also. Below is a list of the items I bought that gave me the great savings with the coupon match-ups. I hope you get to be "one of those people" as well.

Poseyville Yards Sale

Wadesville and Poseyville will have their town wide yard sale on May 7th.  You can probably hit up 100 yard sales in one day (if your fast).  I LOVE THIS DAY.  I get great bargains every time.  Last year I got a lot of outdoor play equipment and this year I need boy clothes and shoes.  Then think about ending your day with a great lunch at the Feed Mill.  YUM!

My Target Trip

I went to the North Park Target yesterday and they had a lot of plus size clothing at 75% off.  I was able to get 5 shirts for my mother-in-law and it made her day and they were $3.  I got 8 Mars candy filled eggs on sale for $.99 but I got them free with the $2 off any 2 Mars easter candy at http://www.coupons.com/ They also had a ton of childrens DVD's for $3.99.  I bought 2 Thomas the Trains, The Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers and an animated Cat in the Hat.  My boys were happy.  I also got 2 more Up & Up brand ibuphrphens for $.49 with the Target coupon at http://www.target.com/  The last deal was a package of Hanes underwear and I had a $1.50 Hanes catalina Target Coupon and a $1 peelie coupon I took from Walgreens (sorry). 

Walmart Clearance

The west side Walmart has winter clothing marked at $3. I found a jacket for each of my nieces and one for me and a shirt.  Also, there was a Walmart rep. outside Walmart that was selling a Evansville Courier Sunday only subscriptions for $1 a week.  Now I don't pay for the paper because I get all my inserts for free from the recycling center but it would be nice to have all the ads and the whole paper.  So I took the deal.  This deal is through Walmart so you can not get it through the paper.  You pay the full subscription price and then the rep gives you $10 cash back or a $10 Walmart gift card.  The subscription is for $3 months and then you can cancel.  The rep will be back this weekend.  But the best time to go will be this Sunday from 8 to 1 because be will be handing out free Sunday papers as well. 

Rural King

All the Rural Kings will have a no tax day tomorrow, Saturday, only. If you need to shop there - tomorrow will be a good day to do it.

Home depot

Home Depot has a "black Friday" sale which actually started on Thursday.  I got 5 tall bushes for half price and three small shrubs at half off also.  They had cypress mulch for $1.49 a bag also with  limit of 20.  I saved $60 all together with my purchase.

I can not wait!!!!!!

I'm so excited for the TLC series Extreme Couponing to start this Wednesday.  The world will have to stop rotating so I can watch this show uninterrupted. That will never happen in my house but a mom can dream.  I have my trusty little notebook with me to write down ideas and I also DVR it (of course.) And Nathan from the first episode will be back for his own special where he makes another amazing shopping trip.  I love Nathan - he's a couponer's dream husband.  So don't forget to set your DVR.
