My coupon shopping to today

First I went to Target and got 6 boxes on 20 count Excedrin for a total of $1.29. I got 2 boxes of Up and Up ibuprofen  for $.49 each.  I got 2 packs of baby wipes for $1.29.  All these coupon are at http://www.target.com/

I also got 4 travel size bottles of Visine for free and I did notice that the North side Target has a lot of clearance especially in maternity and Target has a Liz Lange $3 off coupon so that would make for some cheap maternity clothes.

I also got a LOT of Easter candy at Walgreens for about 50% off with my coupons.

Fisher Price coupons

Go here to print off Fisher Price toy coupons.  I will be holding on to mine in hopes they go on a great sale or clearance.

Menards Crazy days

I went to Menards today because it's the start of their "crazy days" sale that always last fri-sun.  They usually have a lot of good rebate deals.  I went in with $20.50 in rebate money.  Today I got 2 hammers for $.99, 1 chalk tube for free, 2 30-packs of batteries for $.98 each, 1 big box of contractor trash bags for $2.99, 1 container of toilet bowl cleaner for $.99, 4 door knobs for $1.99 each, 4 wrenchs for $.49 each and 3 packs of gum for $1 each.  The store was really busy so I was happy to find most of the things on my list.  They were all out of store flyers by the time I got there at 2:20pm on Friday.

Hamburger meat at Target?

So I happened to be at the east side Target today and low and behold...it was done.  There are freezer aisles and a produce section.  There is refrigerator aisles and specialty breads.  And there is the meat section.  It was so weird to see that.  I went to check out and I had bananas and hamburger meat and I thought I was in another store.  It feels like I'm at a Target in a larger city.  But now Evansville finally has a super Target (well not quite) and we couponers can now use all those great Target store coupons on fruits and veggies.  The store is structured mostly the way it was before.  AND GET THIS.  They have all brand new carts.  I don't know why I'm excited about that.  I don't get out much but I dig the new carts.  So in this trip I bout 4 boxes of Excedrin (regulary $6 each) and I paid $2 each.  That was my only good buy.  I just wanted to go in and see the new store and check their prices.  I think their prices will range more like Schnucks and not as cheap as Walmart.  But with Target you can stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons so that will help greatly.

My shopping trip today

Today I went to the Posey County Thrift Shop in Mount Vernon and they had a sale for all their clothing at 3 for $1.  AWESOME.  So I bought $8.20 worth.  My mom bought $12 worth.  So we did well.  I bought for 4 different people (none for me though).  Except my mom did get me a winter coat for $.33.  I guess she can afford that.  I love it.  Tomorrow all their clothing will be 4 for $1.  They do this twice a year to change over all their seasonal clothing.

Then I went to CVS in Mount Vernon and was able to get Colgate toothpaste, shaving gel and Allegra allergy pills for free and a Schick razor for $1.79.  I also got 4 snickers easter candy eggs for $.25. They did not even make it home.  My son and I ate them up.  Sorry I didn't get the stores deals posted Sat.  I'm back to having only one computer in our house and I'm always the last to get it. But that will be fixed in the next few days.

Sunday's coupons

The coupons in this Sundays paper are up at http://www.sundaycouponpreview.com/

Something Exciting

I have something exciting in the works.  I can't give all the details yet but I'm working on my own website.  It will be like this blog but much bigger and much more information.  I've been thinking about this for some time and decided to just jump off the cliff and try it out.  You never know until you try.  So hopefully I will soon be able to release the website address and tell everyone about it.  I hope you all will follow me there.  I plan to still do my blog specific to the Evansville area as well.

My shopping trip today

The Walgreens on St Joe was sold out of diapers.  But I did get 2 more sticks of Right Guard deodorant.  They were also sold out of the Renuzit air fresheners.  Maybe this couponing thing is catching on! Hope you guys gt some great deals.

I also was at the Dollar General Store by North High School and they have their blue dot clothes at $2 and grey dot clothes at $3.  This is mostly winter clothes and this store did not have much but other stores may have more.  It includes scarfs, shoes and hats as well.

Walgreens and Target

I went to Target on the east side and they have alot of their clearance at 75% off.  I was able to use the last of my 2 $5 off denim coupons and got 2 pairs of jeans for $1.24 each.  I also got 2 really nice push pin boards that was originally $14.99 and they were on clearance for $3.74.

I went to the Walgreens on Diamond Ave and they did not have any of the baby coupon booklets.  Although I still had some from the St. Joe store so I was able to get 2 more packs of diapers and 2 more deodorants.  My total (with a bag of chips) was $9.24 and I got $4 back in RR.  I did use a $4 RR from yesterday as well.

This is how you stockpile!

My shopping trip today

I started at Walgreens on St. Joe and was so happy to finally find the Baby Coupon booklets sitting in a basket at the cosmetic counter.  I took them all...sorry...but there were only 5.  All the Evansville Walgreens should have them now and if you don't see them just ask a manager to give you some.  So I was able to get 2 packages of Walgreens brand diapers for $2.49 each!!!! I also got 4 Reach toothbrushes for free and 6 Renuizit Air fresheners for $.10 each.  And finally I got 2 Right Guard deodorants for free. I also got 3 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch for $1.50 which isn't my price point but I needed to get cereal.  My total after all coupons rendered was $16 and I got $8 back in RR.  Not Bad.

Then I went to CVS off Barker. I hadn't been there before and it was very small but had most of what I went looking for.  I did find this awesome coupon divider and it was not on sale but I loved it so much I got it anyways.  I got 2 bottles of Gain dishwashing liquid for free and a tube of Crest Clinical toothpaste for free.  My total was $9 ($7 of it was the divider) and I got back $3 in ECB.

I plan to make about 3 more trips back to Walgreens since it's such a good week and I want to stock pile my diapers.  The weather was so nasty out that I gave up.  I always shop with my little one so that makes it quite a challenge.

Digital coupons

And I forgot...one of my main motivations for the iPhone is to get digital coupons!  I really know nothing about it so I will have to start from scratch and learn how to do it.  So as I am teaching myself I will post information on the blog for anyone else wanting to learn about it.  Hopefully it won't be complicated.  Wish me luck.

Ebay and ATT

My husband and I upgraded our phone to iPhones.  We were able to take advantage of the new deal where we got 2 phones for $49 each and a $15 data plan.  We have wireless internet at home so we are able to use the cheapest data plan since we won't use our data plan up while at home.  And then I noticed the Otterboxes that protect the phone at the store were $30.  I knew I could get them cheaper so I've been on ebay and got one case for $8.50 and another for $11 with shipping.  My ATT receipt said I saved over $800 (I guess because their price on the phones are $499.)  But we have the 3G phone and I know they are pushing them out to make way for the iphone 4.  Either way - I feel like I saved money today and I'm always happy about that.

Rite Aid

I went for a quick trip to Rite Aid today only because I had some Up Rewards that were going to expire tonight.  I did get Lamisil cream for $4.99 (with coupon and up reward)  (it's normally $11) and these neat footy socks for $1 with a in-store coupon. Technically I didn't pay anything since I had Up Rewards.  It looks like a good week next week too so I guess I'll be back.

Today is Saturday

I'm excited today not just because it's warm, sunny and I get to spend all day with my kids and my nieces...but because it's coupon gathering day!  Today all the deals are going to get listed for each store and I get to see all the free stuff I will be "buying" this week.  I had such a good week last week that I'm worried this week won't be so great.  But I already have seen parts of Rite Aid's ad and it will be a good week there.  So I'll be off to Henderson this week. So if your a coupon nerd like me, have fun searching your deals.  I will have them listed tonight on this blog as well.

My new idea

I have been using a coupon organization system for shopping in the store that I love and works great.  I've tried to tweek it a few times and always go back to my original design because it is what works best for me.  So I've decided that I'm going to create more of them, decorate them and sell them on ebay.  Once I get some done I will try to post photos for everyone to see.  I have 2 systems.  One that I use to sort the coupons that I will spending in the store that day that also has all my store cards.  The other is my home coupon sorting system that is huge.  I usually take both with me to the store unless I know I'm making a quick trip.  So excited to work on this!

Bob's Resale

I went to Bob's Resale for the first time today which is off Diamond near the flea market and Book and Music Exchange.  It's very small and has no heat, or at least it didn't when I was there.  I was frozen.  I wasn't too impressed.  It looked like an indoor yard sale but the prices were too high for me.  For example, they had a air pop popcorn machine that was dirty and old for $5. That would be like $1 at the most for me. They did not have much nicer stuff, mostly kitchen stuff.  I did find VHS tapes for my son which were 6 for $5.  I probably won't go again since yard sale season will be starting very soon.  They do have DVDs, xbox and other games there so that would be worth checking out.

Family Dollar

I ran quickly into the Family Dollar on Diamond Ave. and they have coupon booklets of store coupons at the front door.  There's alot of them but the coupons do say a limit of one coupon, per item, per visit.  So that leaves it up to the cashier to interpret what that means to them.  I always find that confusing. So now I will check to see if I can match up up to some manufacturer coupons so they can be stacked.  I rarely shop Family Dollar but at times they do have good deals. You can also print out more coupons from their website at http://www.familydollar.com/

Coupon organization video

Below is a video done by Collin from http://www.hip2save.com/ on how she does her coupon organization.  She also has prinatables for you if you scroll down the page.  VERY helpful!

Store coupon policy's

Walmart recently updated their coupon policy.  It is below and I went ahead and posted the others stores as well.  Just click the link and print.  I always advise to have the coupon policy with you when your shopping just in case you have trouble with a cashier.  I also highlight parts of it that are a common issue.

My shopping trip today

First I went to Menards.  I had $35 in rebate money to use.  I left the store with 4 paints sets with rollers/brushes and pans, 2 3-piece paint brush set, 2 edging sets, 2 edging replacements brushes, 3 bags of Lays chips, 3 packages of gum and 2 rolls of invisible duct tape.  I paid $5.05 OOP for everything.  As usual I filled out all my rebate forms as soon as I got home and mailed them the next day so hopefully I will get that money back in a few weeks and spend it again.

Next I went to target.  I got the following items for free: 4 boxes of Up & Up ibuprofen, 4 packages of dental floss, 2 pairs of jeans.  I got 7 cans of Satin Care shaving cream for $.45 each.  I got 2 bottles of Suave Shampoo for $.29.  I got 5 packages of Up and Up pantyliners for $.14 each. I had to buy my son some underwear so I did get $1 off that from a Target coupon.  It was a nice week at Target again.  Since they have changed over their computer software I have not had any of my overage buys beep which makes life much easier.
