Dollar Tree's New Updated Coupon Policy

I'm thinking of dressing up for Halloween with my kids this year. I thought it my be fun to mix extreme couponers with extreme hoarders and pin coupons all over my clothes, stuck in my hair, stuck to the bottom of my shoes and coming out my sleeves. It might be fun!

Target Will Match Online Prices for Christmas Season

I was excited to read this one.  Target is launching a new program where they will match some online prices during the Christmas buying season.  Go HERE to read more about it.  I'm excited that they will match Amazon prices and they gives me better hope that I can get a great deal.  Most of the best deals on Amazon are the flash deals with a small limited quantity. If you can match the price at Target and not have to pay shipping then it's a win-win!!!

My Ruler Shopping Trip

I went to Ruler for the first time today. I got 5lbs of flour for $.49, dozen eggs for $.29, 10 lbs of potatoes for $.99 and big bags of chips for $.99. The shelves were full at the Morgan ave store this afternoon and most items had no limits.

Sears Clearance Sale

Sears has a lot of summer clearance right now. I bought 3 pairs of shorts and 2 shirts that were $3.99 each. Any green tag will run up as $3.99 regardless of the price on the tag.

Holidays are coming

We are officially almost to the couponing holiday season. Halloween is the best time to stockpile candy deals, Thanksgiving for canned and baking foods and Christmas for toys. My Menards Trip

My husband and I were able to buy everything we needed to install a bathroom in our basement at Menards for $220. We bought a scratch and dent vanity cabinet (it was slightly damaged on the back where it wouldn't show). The faucet was a discontinued item and the toilet was on sale with a rebate. We saved well over $100 by simply asking the staff for the best markdown items in the store.

I got one of my rebate checks from Staples today from one of my back to school stockpiling trips. It took 2 weeks from the time I filled the rebate form online to get the check. Not too bad!

My Dollar Tree Trip

I found that there are quite a few name brand items at Dollar Tree but unfortunately we didn't get matching coupons in our market. Such as Colgate coupons, which don't ever come in our paper. But non the less I now know what coupons to look out for to get future freebies. I did find 2 coupon match ups. My Staples Trip

I paid less than $8 for everything pictured. Most all of it was $.01 at Staples with any $5 purchase. So I found Crayola on the go packs on clearance for $1 and bought 3 of them and 2 packages of glitter glue for $1. These will make great stocking stuffers. Their sale goes to the end of the week.

Wesselman Coupon Matchups

I have posted all the coupon matchups that I have found so far on the Facebook page. Please check iT out! I also checked with management about the coupon policy. They will accept Internet coupons. Any coupon $.50 and under will triple. There are no limits on "like" coupons or on the total coupons rendered. Can you say "Awesome"! This is the first time that I know of for Wesselmans to do a triple coupon week so please be kind. It would be great if they would run this sale again. And again, and again and ....!

This and That

Hello fellow couponers.  I've been having such a hard time this summer to write on my blog and also to do any couponing.  As some of you know, I have a special needs son and he requires a lot of structure throughout the day which keeps me very busy.  So I've had to sacrifice some of the time I've dedicated to couponing to keeping him and my 3 year-old busy.  We also share a laptop which my oldest son is on all day so I mostly only blog from my phone which doesn't allow me to share links.  So that's why I haven't shared coupon links.  In about a month I will have my freedom back and will be able to get back to my normal routine.  So please bare with me through the summer.  I'm sure many of you are moms and are having the same issues.  I'm actually thinking about doing my drug stores at midnight on Saturday so I can shop in peace and get my deals!

If your new to couponing then you might not know its "back to school" stockpiling time. In the next few weeks there will be couponing deals like crazy for all kind of office supplies. This usually only happens once a year so you need to stockpile to last you at least a year. I'll be posting deals soon!

Need the recipe

Here's the recipe. I used Fels-naptha for this batch but I also like Kirks Castle. I also wrote the recipe on the container so it will be easy to make the next batch. This container should last 3 months and cost about $2.50 to make. It's about 1 tablespoon per load and I just leave the measuring spoon in the container.

Homemade Laundry Detergent

I've switched from homemade liquid detergent to powder and I love it. Super easy, very cheap and all-natural.

$.38 Field hot dogs at Wesselmans this week. They are on sale for $.78 and use the $.50 off Field hot dog, bologna or lunch meat coupon from the SS insert ( I think 2 weeks ago). That's a stockpiling price in my coupon rule book!

Kroger Mega Event Shopping Tip

If you are shopping the Kroger Mega Event this week then I highly advise using this method to organize your buys in tens. I usually have 4 reusable bags myself in one cart. Price Matching Rocks!

I shaved $25.20 off my bill by price matching at Walmart today. I matched the CVS price for pepsi 2-liters at $1 and used the 3/25 SS coupon which made them $.45 each. I also price matched Schnucks ad for Silk Almond milk at 2/$5 and used the $1 off coupon now up at www.coupons.com to get them for $1.50. That's half the price I usually pay.

Double Coupon Month at McKims

McKims IGA in Mount Vernon is doubling $1 coupons and under for the entire month if June. But the catch is doubling only 1 coupon so that makes it hard to stockpile. I hope to go tomorrow and I'll post some deals for you.

New Target Coupon Policy

My frugal hobby #2

Of course my #1 frugal hobby is couponing but I also have another hobby I love that makes money for me. These before pictures are of items I picked up in front of people's homes that was set out with the trash. I paid nothing for them and used paints I had on hand to re-do them. Now they have a new look and both pieces will sell for about $10 each. I have found a new love for re-purposing items and finding creative ways to refinish them. And it's another hobby that both saves and makes money.
