Best Target trip ever!

I new target was going to be good this week with the new coupons they released.  Well I went to day and I had several things I needed to get there that I didn't have coupons for but my total was $90.81 and after coupons it was $40.88.  For $4.52 I got 4 pairs of jeans, 4 packages of dental floss, 2 travel size deodorants, 1 travel size shampoo, 2 24ct boxes of ibuprofen and 2 bottles of 7th generation dish detergent.  NOT Bad.  So my best buy was the jeans.  There is a $5 Target coupon for Women's denim item.  And the North park Target has a lot of 75% clearance. I found jeans marked $4.98 (which means free) and I bought a couple that were $6.98.  So print those Target coupons - they equal free stuff.  the North park target was sold out of dental floss so I got those at the east side.  But the east side had their clearance at 30-50% so I didn't find awesome denim deals there.  But they will have there grocery section finished on march 27th.  They do have much more grocery items in now.  But they have all the clothing crammed together so I'm not too sure how they are going to remedy that.

How to coupon for beginners

Here is a great article on how to start couponing that is very basic.  Great for beginners.  http://www.swaggrabber.com/swag/coupon-basics-if-you-just-dont-get-it-read-this?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+swaggrabber+%28%E2%98%85+SwagGrabber+%E2%98%85%29&utm_content=FaceBook

Dollar General Store deals

I was at my local Dollar General and they had up signs that any blue dot clothing/shoe item is $3.  So I looked at kids clothes and most were $7.50 so that's just a little over 50%.  I know eventually they might be 75% off so I'd rather wait.  But I found some $14 jackets, $16 sweaters and 2piece outfits in the woman's section and men's.  So that's a good deal.  This sale should be at every Dollar General so I hope you find some good deals.

Store coupon policy's

It is important to know each stores specific coupon policy and to also have a copy of it when your shopping.  This is so that if you have a disagreement with a cashier or manager that you will ave written proof of their policy.

CVS coupon policy - the best I have of that now is a letter from their corporate rep which is below.  This is what I carry with me in my coupon binder.

Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy. Your e-mail has reached the Customer Relations Department. We appreciate the time you took to contact us with your inquiry. Our coupon policy is not available on our Web site. We reserve the right to change this policy at any time.

Our registers are set to allow 1 CVS coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon per item. Free coupons or “offers at the register” (OAR’s) are unearned and issued to you as a valued member of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare program. These coupons take the form of “open ended” coupons such as $3 off $15 or a certain dollar amount off a specific item. In any given transaction our registers will allow only one “open ended” coupon per transaction. CVS Extra Buck coupons are earned when you make a qualifying purchase. These print out instantly at the register upon reaching the threshold for the offer. You can use more than one Extra Buck coupon provided the purchase threshold has been met for each offer amount on a per-transaction basis.

In the case where a particular item is on sale for “buy one get one free” (BOGO), you are only allowed to use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. For instance, if Revlon lipstick is on sale for BOGO, you can use one manufacturer’s BOGO coupon. You would get both items free and pay any applicable tax. We reserve the right to limit quantities after the first purchase. If our store is running a sale for BOGO, you can use two manufacturer’s coupons for a specific dollar amount off. For example, if Revlon lipstick is on sale at our store for BOGO, you can use two $1.00 off Revlon lipstick manufacturer coupons.

CVS/pharmacy does accept manufacturers’ coupons that have been obtained from manufacturer sponsored and/or authorized Web sites. The coupon should be complete and contain a bar code that can be scanned at the register. If the coupon does not scan, the cashier should politely inform you that we cannot accept your coupon. We do not allow manual overrides at the register for coupons printed from the Internet. CVS/pharmacy will not accept offers printed from unauthorized Internet postings or reproductions, copies, or facsimiles.

We do not accept competitors’ coupons for front store items. We feel that our sales and ExtraCare program are comparable if not better than any sales or coupons offered by our competitors. We also do not accept any expired coupons, CVS or otherwise. We do not “double” or “triple” coupons.

Again, thank you for contacting us. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Sincerely,
Korrine

Their program works like a rebate program.  So you will pay $4.99 for the product (or whatever the price is) and they mail you the rebate back for it.  And with their program you can submit it online so you don't spend money ona stamp and you wait less time.

Henderson shopping

I went to the Rite Aid in Henderson yesterday.  I didn't get a lot of great deals but I had $15 is Up Rewards that I needed to spend before they expired. I did get 2 packages of Colgate sensitive toothpaste for free and 2 sticks of Lady Speed Stick deodorant for $1 total.  I really like how they have their store laid out and the cashier is so helpful.  I forgot to bring my card and they were able to look it up by my phone number so that was great.  I also went to the St. Vincents De Paul which had only clothing.  I also found the Goodwill which is in a  large store space.  Apparently it use to be a grocery store.  And next to it was a flea market in what looked like a small airplane hanger.  But the best thing was that the DePaul store had a section just for overalls.  That is so Kentucky.  I would have taken a picture of it to go with my other redneck spottings such as the live bait vending machine in Boonville - but I was afraid the workers there would freak out.  The best part of my day was taking my little guy to a park by the river and a train came over us on a bridge. He saw his first choo-choo!

Trouble

We are down to one laptop in our house right now while I'm waiting to get my oldest sons computer fixed.  So I hardly have anytime to get online right now so you may notice that I am not blogging as much as normal but I will be back. With the spring holidays approaching you will be seeing some great sales and more coupons coming so it's a great time to shop.

My shopping trip today

I went to Target and had a list of things to get but I worked in some coupon deals as well.  My total was $96 and it was $74 after coupons.  I did get 2 containers of pressed powder by Rimmel for $.49, Silk milk for $1.79 (this sales for $3.29 at Schnucks), Huggies wipes for under $.50 each and a train track for my little one that he is going to love.  I bought more items than this but these were my best deals.  They have Easter items in their dollar bins now and valentine stuff was marked 50%-75% off.  I went to the North Park Target today.

I also went to the St. Joe Walgreens and they had no idea what baby store coupon book I was talking about.  I plan to call all the Walgreens store managers tonight to try and track down some of these awesome coupons.  I do know that they don't expire till the end of the year so maybe at some point they will get them in.  I can report that the St. Joe Walgreens was picked over and some diaper sizes were not available.

Coupons I'm printing off right now

On http://www.coupons.com/ there is a $7 off 2 Benefiber products.  It's being reported that Walmart carries a package of Benefiber packets for $3.49.  So this would get you 2 boxes for free.  Defiantly worth printing off.  If you don't use this product then this is something you can pass on to a family member or some food pantry's will accept them if unopened.

Borders closing

If you haven't heard on the news, Borders on Burkhardt is closing.  So if you got a gift card for Christmas you need to use it soon.  But I'm wondering if they will so a closeout?  I don't go to the east aide much but if anyone see's signs going up - let us know!  I am sad that another store in that complex is going under.  But new technology with the ereaders and kindles is making hard and paper back books not necessary.  Although I do like to highlight and put post-it notes in my books.

Ever been a consignor?

I'm working now on gathering all my baby clothes and toys for a consignment sell in a fee weeks.  It is the Twice as Nice consignment that will be at the Armory the first weekend of March.  I did their sale for the first time last fall and I was really happy with it.  At first it was a lot of work because I had to enter every item I was selling in their computer system and then print out tags and tag them myself.  But you get to keep a large portion of the profits (I'm trying to remember - I think it's 70% and they keep 30%) which is much better than Once Upon a Child or other consignors here locally.  And you get paid in a check that is mailed to you about 2 weeks after the sale is over.  They except anything kid and also home decor items.  They have very high standards so nothing can be stained, torn, or worn too much.  All toys have to have batteries in the also.  So I always think of that when I'm pricing because I'm out the cost of those batteries.  Although I get great coupon deals on batteries and have usually gotten them free anyways. Last year I did not take very much.  About 3 paper grocery sacks full and I made about $40.  That works for me because I live in the middle of now-where and I can't really have a yard sale at my home.  If you want to check it out or just shop there, here is the link to their website  http://www.twiceasniceevansville.com/

Buying resale

Evansville is plentiful in resale shops.  Imoved here from Indianapolis and we are lucky to have so many because Indy did not have much.  They also don't have any fla markets and antique shops like we do.  I was lucky to find a nice love seat at the Salvation Army off Pollack last week for $25 and it was just the right color for us.  I also went to the antique mall on Riverside ad 41 and found several great pieces to put above my kitchen cabinets.

My Walgreens trip

I went to Walgreens yesterday on Green River (south) and they did not have any of the baby store coupons.  I was so bummed.  I did go ahead and buy 2 packages of diapers and 2 packages of wipes.  I also got 6 can of campbells soup.  After coupons my total was $15.  So not bad for as much as I got.  And I had a lot of register rewards left over fronm last week so I only paid out of pockets about $2.  Today I plan to go to the Walgreens on St. Joe.  I have a bad feelng that our market did not get those coupons that is being rported on the other blogs.  I plan to call around today as well.

Walgreens diapers

I really like Walgreen brand diapers and I really like it when they are B1G1 free - which they will be starting tomorrow.  And to top it off it's being reported that there is a Walgreens store coupon booklet with baby coupons in them.  There is a $2 off any Walgreen diaper purchase.  Combine this with the sale and you can get diapers for $2.99. That's a great price.  Look for these booklets on the cosmetic counter or by the cashier.  If you don't see them, ask a manager because they may not have put them out yet.

Coupons I'm printing off right now

I decided that I should share the links to the coupons I'm printing each day.  I print off coupons every day and some times multiple times in one day.  This is because online coupons have a print limit set by the manufacturer and it could be 500 or 50,000.  So if it's a product you use - you need to print the coupon as soon as you can.  Here you go:

Dove deodorant (can get for $.74 this week at CVS with this coupon)

Baby Magic (no size limit!)

Time to re-organize

I'm in the process of trying out a new system for organizing my coupons and it's a mess.  Every flat surface in my kitchen is covered in papers, ads, coupons, and such.  This is probably the third time I've tried a new system.  I dream of hiring a personal assistant to cut all my coupons out and organize them.  If I was a millionaire I think I would still coupon but I would have staff to do my leg work.  So I had a 3 ring binder system to hold my whole ad inserts but it's just gotten to huge since I have so may inserts for each Sunday.  I may have as many as 20 inserts.  So now I'm putting them into folders by the week and then into cardboard magazine holders for each month.  Then my loose coupons are divided by Target coupons, Walgreen's coupons, rite aid coupons, and then all others.  I have never been a fan of cutting every coupon so I have 8 1/2 X 11 sheets of paper with coupons I've printed from online clipped together.  It's easier for organizing at home but a pain in the butt when I'm at a store and see something on clearance that I know I have a coupon for it and I have to thumb through 100 sheets of paper.  It's a work in progress.

Did you get your P $ G coupon booklet?

I just got my coupon booklet off Facebook worth over $100. I should get it in 5-7 days.  NICE.  Did you get yours?  See my previous post for all the scoop.

My shopping trip today

I went to Walgreens and was able to get the Garnier Hair Color for $.33 each with no problem.  I also got the Right Guard body wash for free.  The St. Joe Walgreen did have $1 coupon peelies.  To find out how to get these coupons - see my previous post.  I also went to Dollar General in Poseyville and they have their winter clothes at 50% off.  So I usually hold out for 75% off but half price isn't bad also.  I buy up for next year.  They are not the best quality clothes but they make for good play clothes ad they usually have 2 piece sets which are nice.

My Stimulating Saturday nights

As a couponer, Saturday nights are the beginning of my coupon hunt.  I spend my nights going through all my blogs and emails and gathering together my shopping list of deals.  I pretty much don't have a social life so this is what I do for fun on a Saturday night. And I enjoy it.  I feel like it's my treasure hunt and I go searching the internet for hidden treasures found in the form of coupons. I compile all the best deals of items I want into a shopping list on Word which is divided out by each store consisting of Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid (my new one) and Target.  I do Walmart and Menards about twice a month.  Then when I have my whole list together I print it out and then start searching and compiling all the coupons.  This is when I find out if I have the coupons or not (our area doesn't get a lot of the coupons because our market is too small).  I then cut the coupons and stick them in my store coupon binder which is sorted out by each store I shop at.  I also have all my store cards, like my CVS card, in my binder and any gift cards, RR or ECB.  The next step is to go out Sunday or Monday to buy all my bargains.  If I'm lucky enough to get away on Sunday then I usually have to problems getting my deals because it's not sold out yet.   So that's my weekend routine.

Winter Clearance

It's beginning to look a lot like winter clearance!!!  So now is the time to really check clearance racks when you go to the store to find clothes, scarves, jackets and more for next year.  Today I was at a consignment store on Franklin that had bought out Old Navy of their children's winter coats when they had a good clearance sale.  Smart idea!

What will be in the paper this Sunday?

There will be a 2 inserts in this Sunday’s paper.

My Rite Aid Shopping trip

One of my New Years Coupon Resolutions was to try new stores and today I did.  I drove over the bridge to Henderson to shop at Rite Aid fr the first time.  I stayed up till 1am last night going over their coupon policy and learning all the different programs.  On my first shopping trip I bought 2 packages of Dixie paper plates, 1 Gillette Fusion Power razor gift set, 2 KY Jelly, 1 small bag of chips, 2 packages of Spic and Span disposable gloves and 2 different scrubbing brushes.  I paid out of pocket $10.14 and I got back $10 in UP Rewards.  So that was great to get all of that for $.14 and that was on my first try.  So I'm anxious to go again.  Rite Aid has a lot of savings programs which was overwhelming at first to learn about them all but it also helps you save more money.  I also discovered that there are 2 Rite Aids in Henderson and they are about 5 minutes apart.  not only that but there is a little back road that directly takes you from one to the other.  This will work out great for when there is a limit of 1 or if one store is sold out of an item.  I wanted to see if there was more saving I can do while I am in Henderson to make it worth the gas and I did discover that there is a Habitat Restore which sells home furnishing/materials.  I didn't find anything on this trip but I look forward to checking them out again.  They also have a St. Vincent DePaul and a Goodwill.  I'm always on the lookout for wood furniture, shelving and DVDS and VCR tapes so these are great place to find them cheap.  I look forward to telling more about future Rite Aid trips.

$.25 Huggies Wipes

Go here http://www.couponnetwork.com/ to print a $.75 Huggies coupon with no size restriction.  Walmart and target often have their travel packs for $1 which would make them $.25 after the coupon.  These are great to have in the car, traveling for your suitcase, baby shower gifts and to donate to women's shelters.

Free Coupon booklet

Go here https://www.thepromotionaloffer.com/hmsdrtv/  to get a new Organize in Style coupon booklet. I always get free Dawn dish detergent with one of the coupons from the book.  It's worth getting.

My Menards trip

I love Menards.  Today I went with $34 in rebate money and was able to leave with 4 bags of potting soil, 2 3-packs of brushes, 1 angle broom, 4 reusuable bags, 1 wall decal set (trucks and cars for the 2 year old) and a bag of lays and I paid $5.00 after I used my rebate money.  And I now have $28 is rebate money to send off for. When I get that rebate check in the mail I will roll it over again.  Can't wait.
